some people violently took control of a (the?) seattle LGBT neighborhood and are keeping police out and declared it an "autonomous zone" from the US. mayor let them, police chief doesn't like it, situation ongoing

Yes I was serious. I had heard about the Capital Hill etc etc... just wasn't clear that that was what a "CHAZ" was. Thanks for the answer.
