wtf this is so weird. he's like half in character and referring to his character dying? Is this a last ditch effort to save House of Cards?

Yeah it's super weird, especially if you read about all the symbolism of the mug and the ring he puts on and so on. This is his way of responding to the accusations, basically confirms to me he is in some sort of cabal. Either that or he was having some sort of mental breakdown, but I don't think it was that.

I think he's trying to talk about the real life accusations, while simultaneously talking about his character. I think it's him sending a message to the accusers and who may back them

I feel half the video he's talking to the general viewing public, the other half he's symbolically talking to "The Powers That Be".

This is his way of responding to the accusations, basically confirms to me he is in some sort of cabal.

I agree with this completely, these statements have double meaning and aren't just intended for the general viewing public, at least in my opinion:

"What we have is too strong, too powerful. And after all, we shared everything, you and I. I told you my deepest, darkest secrets."

"So we're not done no matter what anyone says."

"Wouldn't that be easy? If it were so simple? Only you and I know it's never so simple, not in politics, and not in life."

"Because I can promise you this, If I didn't pay the price for the things we both know I did do, I'm certainly not going to pay the price for the things I didn't do. (Speaking to both the audience and TPTB here)

"Of course they're going to say I'm not playing by the rules. I've never played by anyone's rules before. I never did, and you loved it."

I know some gay people love talking like this way...they just good at creepy others out...but it doesn't mean they are powerful, I don't know.
