That is what stupid people look like.

You can cook pasta in just enough water or even just sauce for that meal thats what one pot pasta meals are.

Semantical, but you should cook pasta in just enough water, no reason not to. Although some people say it's so the starch content is higher if you want to use it to thicken your sauce but in my experience a corn starch slurry works way better.
