This, combined with the fact that the AfD is now over 30% in German polls, tells me the populist wave is far from over.

Sure but Meloni got into power and has done jack shit. Same for PiS or any other jackoff rw party in Europe. There really isn't a peaceful or electable solution to this crisis. The only people fighting against it seem to be accelerationist killer whales.

Collecting a PM paycheck is easy. Doing something would require work which nobody likes. Elections for political positions are way too lenient. They should say "If you don't do your job, we get to fire you again whenever we want".

Well there are many ways to remove a candidate from office...but without some suitable alternative to actually act and use the power vacuum with that, it's unlikely the replacement would change much.

More efficient would be to change the cost-benefit both for migrants living there, en route, and the ngos funding that.
