Everyone I've talked to IRL around my age group (early 30's) thinks that Rittenhouse was in the right and these range from people who are very political and casual/not very. But of course the few boomers, including my own parents, think he was in the wrong and their excuse is that he shouldn't have been there with a rifle, and the fact he came with a rifle means he was looking to shoot someone. I live in a liberal area USA. I was actually surprised some of the younger people I talked to totally believed it was self defense, I expected them to give me shitlib answers
