Snowden didn't really reveal anything important, and nothing really happened. He was allowed to exist because it creates the view that what you really need to worry about is the NSA reading your phone logs: but the real problem is that the US government is entirely corrupt, partisan and criminal. I'm not saying Snowden consciously did a useless leak, but that the reason things went the way they did is because the deep state types had nothing to lose from this leak.
