I'm pretty sure that from 70AD to 1948AD, Israel was saying much of anything...

Jews have been called Israel, have been calling themselves Israel, since long before 1948. Hence in part the country + nation / country v nation stretch--"Israel the country has done since October 7 alone, it does get a body wondering what else it, as well as Israel the nation"-- in my linked Gab post.
