There was more open hostility towards the Catholic Church and the Jesuits in the Protestant nations until the Masonic revolutions, in which it gained way more power than before. There's no reason why to believe the Jesuits had a change of heart and they've also been behind a lot of the anti-Semitic conspiracy theories:
