To answer the question "Is terrorism real," you first have to address the question "What is terrorism?"

Do people commit acts that meet some legal definition of terrorism? Of course. But those definitions tend to be incredibly broad.

I guess if we're just talking, and not trying a court case, questions like "Did Elliot Rodger commit an act of terrorism" are kind of interesting. Violence against random civilians in support of an agenda? Absolutely. An agenda representative of any powerful anti-government force? Hardly.

It's real and there's also false flags. For instance bin laden really did attacks in the late 90s but he didn't do 9/11.

Technically, it's just cowardice masquerading as courage. It takes zero bravery to set off a bomb at a mosque (which is usually where they get set-off for some bizarre reason) or shoot a rocket over a border. But it's a real thing. Just look at the cowards at Hamas. They engage in it every day with zero results.
