Heya folk, how's things? Sorry haven't been around much, here and mod wise; been laying low after some pretty gnarly treatment for a long term illness that kicks me arse for quite some bloody time now... but I'm getting there.

Tej has been keeping me updated when I've popped into mod chat on occasion - haven't really been online here or elsewhere for some time now - and wanted to check in with you guys here, and in general.

Imma go through and have a squizz at what's been posted since being absent, who's commenting and suchlike. In the meantime, if you have suggestions, rants, or just wanna gush about something happening in your life, here's the place to do it!

I would agree with that. Pretty much anything from cat and now bestgore are 404ing or just not loading.

It really feels like a different, lesser place. Classic reposts, idiotic comments, very few pics and no way to downvote. Seems like the good posters are gone. I still come here once every few weeks, catch up and end up disappointed. I go more often to Goregrish or Death Addict where you can find more fresh content but also toxic communities... Our community was the great value of WPD and I'm not finding it here.

I know you can't do anything about that, I'm just venting frustration. Cheers and thanks for making this anyway.

Because this WPD has so few users, I tend to lurk and not comment as much as back on reddit wpd. With so few users, don't want to take the chance of ruffling anyone's feathers. I assume, as the number of users increases, there will naturally be more conversation = a sense of community again. (it is quiet here so far, but not toxic either)

Yep, too right. In its infancy WPD was the same mate, all links and reposts... It's not just a rebuilding of the community, it's a consolidation y'know?

Possibly unpopular opinion here, but I'm not a fan of the upvote/downvote graphics. I would prefer something simpler. Maybe that's just me.

Thank you for hosting all this, I really miss WPD and this is a laudable effort to recreate the sub.

Instead of 2 upvote buttons (1.insightful 2.fun)...
I would rather have 1. upvote and 1.downvote
Hasn't been needed so far, but in the future who knows...
(I don't feel strongly about this, just been in the back of my mind. Maybe I'm just too used to reddit.)

There seems to be more request posts popping up here, and /s/WPDtalk doesn't get used much.

I've been letting them go for now because there's been no backlash but should we disable text posts here and make it link only?

I don't feel it has been overused (requests). Actually surprised by how quickly the community is able to find links to the requested video.
The sub is slowly growing, but still very small compared to reddit days. So my personal opinion is "It's fine. Doesn't bother me at all."

So far so good. What do I know. I am new to WPD. Never really wanted to check it out. By the time I did, it had been banned a while. Found the new one pretty quick of course. Thank you so much!

I hope more people find Tejmar on reddit and ask him what's going on like I did, that's how I found out about this place.

The thing I miss the most is the hilarious comments, that's mainly why I'd go into it before, there were times I laughed my ass off at some of the comments.

Also these videos have made me the safest mother fucker in the world, to the point of annoyance almost.

Me too lad, me too. The funniest by far was a video of a motorcycle thief that was shot in the head, he was laid out and unresponsive but kept making these vrooom vroom noises. Top comment was "aww poor guy thinks he's still getting away". I fucking lost it.

I can't remember them but there were a couple instances in the old group I laughed the hardest at anything I've ever laughed at in reddit. I hope we can get that back here once more folks find out about this place.

At first I feel like it's much better than voat, but after a while I'm a little bit sad.
We'll never have informative and constructive comments from like how we used to have in reddit as I don't think we'll have as many people as we have back there.

Some of informative comments back then also comes from some people who don't usually lurk in wpd but found their way to WPD somehow. We won't get that here, I missed that.

Glad to be here, I was an avid user of the first WPD for many years before it got taken down. The difference between that platform and other gore sites was the community. It wasn’t just a bunch of edgytryhards j/oing to all this shit. A lot of solid people were on WPD and I learned a lot of stuff like always being aware of your surroundings and not taking life for granted cause it can all be taken away in an instant and to never fuck with cartels... with that being said, I hope one day we can grow as a community and perhaps have some semblance of that. Just made an account for this group and am glad to be here.
