The motorcyclist was fortunate to not have been a victim of that driver's assholeness. The driver was probably thinking "I'm gonna be a highway star!" and the song plays in his head, only to get killed by his own life's gamble.

I drive for a living and I see drivers like this guy almost every single day. You know the type who will rev up their engine, and then accelerate at insane speeds while on local roads where people might be crossing and there isn't really a lot of space to maneuver. They drive as if they're in a John Wick car chase action sequence.

The other day, the light turned yellow and I was a long ways off till the sign. I knew I had to slow down because it's a yellow light I can never safely pass. Then this car behind me revs up his noisy engine (VRRROOM VRRROOOOMMMM!!!) and then speeds to beat the light. I knew the timing of the light and I knew that he wasn't gonna make it. I started counting. Three, two, one... and the light turned RED as I predicted. The guy didn't even make it past the pedestrian crosswalk and other cars already started moving, yet the guy just sped through the red light. If the situation was different and the cars who had the right to move had someone moving fast, a bunch of people could've died at that moment.

Maybe one day you'll unwittingly watch me as part of WPD's videos. For sure I won't be the one killing pedestrians and other people. I'm more likely to be a victim of someone else's driving ego.

You just don't get this kind of poetry on reddit. Concise, illustrative, and to the point, but you feel like you've experienced someone's entire life.
