News story https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2019/04/15/charlotte-police-shooting-video-danquirs-franklin-killing/3480301002/

Some are saying the police shot the guy before he posed a serious threat them, maybe that's true or it isn't, but I figure if someone is pointing a gun at you it's best to do as they say, whether it be a good guy with a gun, or a bad guy.

This would have been a prime opportunity for a Taser deployment imo. Immobilization of the guy would have given the cops a chance to rush in and restrain him with little risk of the guy being able to even raise a weapon let alone aim and fire.

Of course, if the taser failed he had a pretty good chance of turning and firing on the cops.

It's hard to say it, but I feel the cops should have put themselves at risk to immobilize and restrain the guy instead of just shooting him.

The way I see it,these cops knew the danger of their chosen profession when they signed up and swore to protect and serve. Aversion to personal danger on the part of the police is what killed this man.

The cops seem scared, I don't think they were temperamentally prepared for this situation.

Could have been fear or just excitement. None of the cops in this situation had any other thought than "Drop the gun".
