She was shot in the middle of a hallway in a public building while unarmed.

Are you consciously and maliciously misrepresenting the truth or are you just misinformed? There are videos from other angles clearly showing her trying to climb through when she was shot. And the building was not open for public access at the time, especially not the area she was in.

Members of Congress were sheltering somewhere in there, in the last part of the building that had not been overrun. It was a last stand, they could not let anyone through. If one got through, the masses would follow.
