The air around the balcony would have by that point been anywhere from 150 degrees on the floor to 600* where the smoke is, she would have either melted to death or died on impact with the ground. The correct decision was made here, given the unfortunate fact that there was no inflatable pillow or longer latter for her to land on. Terrifying to be in a position to choose the method of your death
