Bloodbath shakes the city of Ulianópolis this Tuesday of Carnival (25), with the death of Corporal Weberton Moura Araújo, of the Military Police, and the immediate reaction of the PM who killed five criminals in confrontation. Two of whom were responsible for the death of the military and for the shooting of Sergeant José Ribamar Araújo Frazão, who was hospitalized and is not at risk of death.

The attack happened when the police vehicle was patrolling near the Civil Police Station. Corporal Moura and Sergeant Frazão saw two men walking down the street and decided to approach them. When the vehicle was stopped, one of the criminals drew a gun and shot the two PMs, killing the corporal who drove the car and wounding the sergeant.

After the crime, teams from the 21st Independent Military Police Company (CIPM), with reinforcements from the Special Operations Battalion (BOPE) and civilian police from the 7th RISP - Capim Regional Superintendence, started hunting the marginals.

In a siege at the first raised site, there was a bullet reaction and one of the criminals was killed in the ensuing confrontation, while another was arrested. When questioned, he informed the location where the others were.

A new siege took place and the suspects were shot at by the PM. Responding to the occasion, the military police killed everyone. Weapons, ammunition and cell phones were found in the hideout, raising the suspicion that the group was in the region to commit large-scale robberies.
