What if this virus served a function to cull the weak (in light of it being seemingly survivable without any underlying health/immune system issues)?

I dunno man, that one Chinese doctor was in his 30s. I can understand the very old or immunocompromised. He didn't look that way.

That's kinda what viruses can do already. But as humans with big brains we can lessen the impact and take steps to protect weaker populations. Therefore getting around natural selection a little bit.
