Why did that guy go for the ride with him?

At first I thought it was a joke like those amusement park rides workers do sometimes - ride along for a second in the beginning, then jump off.

But he held on and jumped on top, maybe he saw something and tried to hold on to the tourist? If so, he definitely did not see it right when they took off.

He's probably a worker.

Ya but.. why did he go with the guy? He spent 5 minutes strapping him in and then just hitched a ride with no safety equipment? He must have gotten caught up in ropes or something right?

It looks strange and dangerous from the getgo. Hard to see but it seems like he climbs on top of the old man and he slips out of his safety whatever. They're too far to see it well.

I just cant understand how he slipped off.. and the worker’s intentions looked as if he was always going to be joining the man.
