I am a fairly recent survivor of an abusive relationship. I saw this post come up a few days ago and left it til I felt strong enough to watch it. I’ve only now just watched it and.. wow. What upsets me most is how no one did anything. Not even after she had been lying still for a long while.

I know the fear of being brought into something you weren’t a part of is real, I know some abuse victims deny and defend their abusers, but PLEASE, from the bottom of my heart if you ever see domestic abuse try and help the victim. If you’re worried about the abuser finding out and the abuse getting worse, try take the victim aside in a nonchalant way OR if it’s escalated by then already offer a way for them to get out safely ASAP.

So many times I would have killed to hear ‘come stay with me for a night’.
