Things are more complex. Israel replaced the non-violent Fatas with the extremist Hamas.

You are incorrect.

Hamas came to power in Gaza in 2006 after defeating the rival Fatah political party, which controls most of the West Bank, in legislative elections. (No votes have been held since.)

The "Palestinian" ( Palestine does not actually exist ) people democratically voted in Hamas, then promptly never got another election.
