People praising Dahomey “Amazons” for fighting the French in Africa, without realising or ignoring that the French were trying to stamp out the Dahomey slave trade.

The British ended the Dahomy slave trade in 1852 with a naval blockade preventing American slavers from buying slaves there.

The French didn't invade until two full generations later, in 1892.

It's okay for whites to celebrate the strength of the Roman Empire, the civilization of the Greeks, the origins of Christianity in the Israelites, all of whom had slaves.

It's okay for Americans to Remember the Alamo, and to celebrate the American Revolution, and even the Confederacy, even though they were slave owners.

But if darkies dare to celebrate their own past, when they were kings... RAGE RAGE RAGE.

Be honest. You're not really upset about the slavery part. You're probably fine with the Anglo-Saxons and the Vikings. You just can't stand to be reminded that blacks from Africa have a long and glorious history of their own.
