Well, you can have a vegans vs meat lovers debate because both sides have a point: meat is important for the body; not hurting animals is a good thing. You can't have a TRAs vs gender criticals debate because one side has zero valid points to make. And we know which side it is.

not hurting animals is a good thing.
Why though? I'm not sure I agree with that fully.
Sure we can probably agree that hurting or torturing animals for the heck of it is psychotic behavior and evil, that makes sense that humans would naturally want to shun people who do senseless acts of violence against animals because it stands to reasons they'll do the same to you.
But killing animals for food isn't exactly senseless. This is also something that animals do all the time, and I don't think any is going to go seriously claim that a Lion eating an antelope is a bad thing, even if we can emphasize with the prey.
So my point is simply, it's fine for animals to kill and eat other animals. So it's fine for humans to kill and eat other animals as well.

I mean... given the choice between killing an animal or not, without any other considerations, most of us would probably choose not to. Besides sport hunters, I suppose.
If we could grow lab meat, and it were as cheap and healthy as the best animal meat, why not eat lab meat?

If my grandma had wheels she'd be a bike.
We may love lab meat all we want, but it simply isn't a reality at the level of scale and price that would be needed.

I mean I don't really care about the idea of lab grown meat, if it is safe and economical might be a place for it, but in larger discussions concerning the morality of eating meat it seems pointless to me.
I've never understood the vegetarians or vegans who try to find meat substitutes that look like and taste like real meat. It's like "I think eating meat is immoral and like murder, so I've just gone and made this fake meat that looks and smells and tastes like dead animal flesh."
Like imagine lab grown food for cannibals. I think most people would be grossed out at that idea. So I really don't understand why vegetarians go for this fake meat stuff.
