Females have pink. They mostly don't know anything about purple. Decorating the rainbow flag with it is kind of a sick joke.
Even if more plebs-saiditers seemingly don't believe it:
There are spaces reserved exclusively for men. Where "old" interpretations of purple itself are taught.
Thankfully women can write anything they can imagine nowadays. But same as every other person on this planet, they also only can write, what they know.
So they write love-stories and about families. Which they should get concerned about once again.
Which sadly doesn't happen by selling rather profane fiction. Or by longing for it. No matter how deeply.
