I can't speak for all men, but physical intimacy is important to my well-being. Masturbating doesn't fulfill the same purpose. Although all too often a couple's sex drive becomes misaligned. I think it's a pretty good reason to allow a lover. Like I tell the wife: I'd prefer it was you, but it doesn't have to be, it just has to be someone.

Holding a guy's libido hostage isn't fair at all to the guy. And vice verse for women, although that's not as common. Not saying they gotta fuck all the time or on demand, but if the bedroom is dead why make someone suffer in that, if the partner doesn't want sex anyways. They don't want it but nobody else can have it either.

And I hope you don't say just leave. Suffering without sex or leaving the person you love are terrible options. Not that picking up a lover is perfect or anything, but it seems the least awful choice.
