Half a liter(10.56688 pint US) of wine? Holy shit. I wouldn't have made it past lunch.

Damn, US pints are only 473ml? Tell me that isn't what they serve. The UK enjoys a standard 568ml pint.

Nonsensical imperial units. Going for a pint does have a nice ring to it though.

Now schoolchildren who have their parents' consent take prescription drugs daily, including central nervous system stimulants (methylphenidate and amphetamine) for "attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder".

Jesus gave wine to his disciples, so wine must be good in moderation.

I just gave my urchins pills to keep in their pockets when they needed a sudafed or smth for allergies. Obviously-stupid rules should be resisted.

It used to be standard to give children low alcohol beer in Europe and America, makes sense the same would be true of wine. Probably very low alcohol content.

Yes. In 1956, Prime Minister Pierre Mendès passed a law banning alcohol in schools for children under 14, and it wasn't until September 1981 that alcohol was also banned for kids 14+ in high school.
