I'll pretty sure the German T-38 is the same aircraft as the US F-5 Freedom Fighter.

You're right, "the two seat version of the F-5 was developed into the dedicated T-38 supersonic trainer," but it's not a German T-38, Germany bought them from us and keeps them stationed in Texas presumably so we train their fighter pilots. I think that's interesting.

Pilots of NATO nations fly the T-38 in joint training programs with USAF pilots. Although nobody else owns 46 of these training craft stationed in the US, except for Germany. It's interesting.
