I call bull**** to the article; it's simple, older folks see time differently as they've experienced more of it, meaning the cyclical nature of it begins to become apparent. At least for myself it does, I never had 'never ending time' as a child, and saw it then, like I do now, gone in a blink.
Aside from that, the other aspect I think trying to be conveyed in with this article, is the continued conditioning that 'elders' don't matter; that a kid with no life experience, well their brains work faster according to this, so surely they've got the same experience; no elders ever needed....
