No he wasn't. In fact, the term "gay" didn't even come to mean homosexual attracted until sometime in the late 60s and early 70s. In fact, Shakespeare had love affairs with several males in his lifetime. But he wasn't "gay" by any means. He was, however, both hetero and homosexual.
