If it slows, each side facing the sun will face the sun for a longer time each day, increasing temperatures. Causation .

If it slows, each side facing the sun will face the sun for a longer time each day, increasing temperatures. Causation.

It will also prolonge the cooling of the oposite side, decreasing temperatures. Causation is neutral in this model.

Not exactly. Things heat and cool at different rates

Otherwise it'd be a lot colder at night
