Conservatives are less likely to purchase imperfect fruits and vegetables that are abnormal in shape and color than liberals.

"Liberals" is propagandist mislabeling: the opposite of conservatives are progressives and they usually few things common with actual liberals (who reside on orthogonal axis of political compass). Progressives can behave as an authoritarians quite often.

Progressives adhere on established consensus and rules in similar way like conservatives - but at different social scale: globalist instead of communal or individualist. So with less than perfect opinions (about vaccination, global warming, whatever...) you'll end as a rotten apple for progressives fast.

This finding is not so uncontroversial for me. Of course, it can be abused propagandistically, but conservatives are borderline autists in similar way, like progressives are borderline schizophrenics. Autists adhere on past, manners and customs and they're perfectionists often. See also:

Conservatives just like to have things tidy and clean at personal, family and communal scale. Progressives rely on social consensus and groupthink, but their private lives are much less organized. It's the social scale, which determines what makes things tidy for conservatives and progressives.
