Congratulations feminism; you played yourself.

I'll forever be confused how people think feminism caused this. Gender ideology is traditional gender roles on crack.

Tradtional gender roles: Women need to be feminine.

Feminists: Women don't have to be feminine.

Gender ideology: Feminine people are women.

The first and third have way more in common than the middle.

Feminists: Women don't have to be feminine.

Also feminists: women need special privileges and treatment: women-only places, women-only programs, women-only this, women-only that

Trolls: hey, we want special gibsmedat as well. How about we call ourselves women?

This seems to be the course that all activism ends up running. A group starts out being actually oppressed and demanding equality, but the nature of identity politics being what they are, this is inevitably never good enough, and pretty soon the activism machine is demanding not equality but the exact opposite - special privileges as a protected class. It doesn't matter whether its women, blacks, alphabet people, or any other special identity group. Identity politics is an exteremely toxic kind of ideology.

There is a huge problem on the rad/fem GC side in denying that TRAs are mostly women.

Most of them will consider themselves feminists.

The tactics are pure high school mean girls, name calling, social shunning, spreading lies.

A few kinky men are getting a lot out of this movement but it is middle and upper class women driving it.

It's a great class disqualifier. You don't believe men can be women, you must be one of those ignorant and rude common people.

You're not wrong in your assumption, but look up Third Wave Feminism. That's where the core ideals of the movement started to go off the rails. Now the word "feminism" is as far away from its original meaning as the gender nazis are trying to make the word "woman".

Two things about "trans rights activists" I can trace back to feminism:

  1. pronoun-isms, maybe feminists had a point that using 'he' as default (to refer to an unidentified person) can lead to overqualifying the collective achievements of men. For example: the case of an unidentified tournament winner or inventor. Though I think 'he' as default also easily attributes losses or failures to men as well. And now we get "they/fae" third person neopronouns for people obsessed with how a third person perceives them.

  2. the perceived right to a medical procedure (abortions for feminists, gender therapy for trans/gender/sexuals). There is no sloganism or chanting that is a substitute for a proper discussion on bioethics, but because of these movements, this is what we get in public discourse. (I am way more familiar with people getting kicked out from hospitals for not having insurance than having any 'right' to a medical procedure, to be honest.)

I mean this is besides the Marxism or sociopathic word games both of these movements have played in the past. If there happens to be some overlap between Marxist tactics and psychological abuse tactics from cluster B personality types, I will not be surprised at all.
