This is hyperbole, these tech companies don't control what I say or read. Everyone has a choice whether they use these platforms, and by being on there you are complicit in their censorship.

I do think we're living in a maturing surveillance state, with diminishing rights and privacy, but to say these tech companies are worse than 1984 is laughable at best (have they even read the book?).
