Locked out of account, can't start new one

I've had an an account on Voat for about a year. I do look at the site. I never post anything, never comment or vote on posts. I find I am "locked out of my account for security reasons. Try back in a while." I tried to create an alternate account. Every combination of numbers and letters was "unavailable. Doh." no matter how obscure.

I've read elsewhere that joining Voat may be "invitation" only. There was no mention of this when I tried to sign up.

Any thoughts?

Oh I thought they unlocked it as of 2 days ago again? It was locked for over a month, they didn't allow new account creation, but I think I remember reading it's open again as of a couple days ago. Maybe they turned that back on too.
