ill just stick to the old vpn/proxychain method .. works best. For almost 2 decades .. why fix it if it ain't broken ?

The problem is the old generation is quickly getting older. A younger generation values monetization and ease of use over flexibility and investing time in learning how to make something work. Unless you are willing to maintain some software yourself, it will be likely that you will be unable to find it, or in some cases use it, as maintainers remove software from public access. Regardless, having another choice is good for everyone.
