Poorly phrased question. What is "expect" in this context? Do i expect to get run over if I cross the motorway blindfolded? Yes. Do I want to get run over? No. I expect tech companies to do political grandstanding. I don't want them to.

It could also be that tech people are more savvy about their wrongthink possibly being used against them and suspect their honesty might get them blacklisted.
