I thought talking about my cringe moments with women would be a good opener for christmas. So here's a good one.
When I was in middle school and high school, I was that guy that would keep texting the group after we finished group assignments. I had watched my tall, white friends get girlfriends after getting paired up with a girl for a group assignment and continuing to text them afterwards. I thought it'd work for me, but I was always ignored or blocked.
One time in high school, we had a group assignment before Christmas. I was paired up with some of the most attractive girls in class and we had to exchange numbers. During the entire project they kept saying they weren't getting my messages. They ended up going to one of the girl's houses and finishing the entire project without me. Didn't even give me a part in the presentation. Just rolled the entire thing without any contact with me. When christmas came, I texted them all "Merry Christmas!" thinking at least one of them would start a conversation with me. No one replied.
I asked them when school began again if they got my messages. One girl said she didn't recognize the number. One girl said, "I saw it but I'm never on my phone, that's why I didn't reply". The third girl just ignored me when I asked her about it.
That was the moment I learned to not save people's contact information when doing group assignments. I don't save anyone's number in my phone, I leave the group chat the second the assignment is over, and I block their number unless we get paired up again.
Biggest cringe moment of my entire life. Or one of them. Merry Christmas everyone
