I think it's about the kind of image they try to develop. If they're Brotherhood etc. nobody is calling their skinhead ass a wannabe thug. But if they're going out their way to act they're a black gangsta thug, that's a different thing. I think there's just different racial expectations of how you're supposed to crimemaxx, even though often it doesn't mesh properly with how low income people often live together, regardless of race.

I think a good example to look at would be white dirty South rappers, mgk, etc. Another might be how Indians that try to create the black thug image aren't quite seen the same way as whites that try it. Maybe it's just a 'well, they're all coloured' thing.
