Hey there everyone, so I came across a new argument in the discussion of why "Transgenderism" is real and this one guy started an argument with me when I said the usual thing of men can't become women and women can't become men. He eventually brought up Intersex (like they always do) and I pretty much laid it out that Intersex conditions still fall within the male & female sex class and how I kept hammering in the definition of "Man", "Male", "Woman", and "female" since he was one of those people that said that "Man" and "woman" are genders. He then brought up the condition called "CAIS" and I think I goofed on it because from what I read, it reads
"occurs when the body cannot use androgens at all. People with this form of the condition have the external sex characteristics of females, but do not have a uterus and therefore do not menstruate and are unable to conceive a child (infertile)."
I thought that this was essentially Hermaphroditism because it also made note of how the chromosomes in the body is 46, XY Karyotype but apparently it isn't so I made a mistake there. This was pretty much his response to me when I made that goof up about CAIS.
True hermaphroditism doesn't exist in humans, and its regarding humans is entirely by non-scientists who are either ignorant of science or are being deliberately shitty.
CAIS is a condition described as a person who develops as "phenotypically female" and the word man or men is never applied to these people. They are also never referred to as males in modern scientific literature; the word is used to describe the internal gonads and the genotype. But not the person.
Your transphobia is so strong that you're arguing with things that have been established in medicine for decades because you want reality to be neatly gender essentialist. This isn't even about dating trans people anymore (do what you want, idgaf and nobody else should gaf either), but about your refusal to see people for anything other than chromosomes. The truth is that biology isn't that simple.
Anyway I know that this condition does not prove that Transgenderism is real. I did say that there are true anomalies when it comes to biology but what I also read about people with this condition is that it only affects like 1 in 20,400 to 1 in 99,000 people making it extremely rare and we all know for a fact that most "transwomen" and "transmen" are people who don't suffer from CAIS. But anyway, I was just curious to hear some second opinions on this. Do you think the existence of "CAIS" is a confirmation that transgenderism does exist? Is there anything i should keep in mind when trying to argue against this?
