This "gupi" guy seems like an douche, but being an douche these days can be good for business. For one thing, partisans with pronouns will support him because of this. The idea of blocking people from something you post to everyone else for free is nasty, but the idea that someone might want to control who their fans are, or at least, who they appear to be, has merit. If he's doing some music concert, people might want to go to meet people "like them". They might want to buy a T-shirt to signal that they like their brand. This is partly why people like Pewdiepie.
