If that's the same Dune movie I saw, it was literally one of the worst movies I've ever tried to watch.

It certainly had issues.

You might like the SpiceDiver Edit better if you're dedicated to the books and want to give it a second chance. Many think it's the best version from the 1984 material.

I was more into the LOTR. I've read the book 7 times, so 7000+pages. Even there, while being pretty great, the movies were a real letdown in several critical areas. Faramir was a good guy, unlike the character the movie portrays.

Anyway, you're a good and prolific writer. What do you think about a possible 'colab' on a brief history of 2021.0 - 2021.5 saidit. We might have to hit up u/d3rr for a link to one of those drama-stimulating loki88 posts, if any remain.

TAM 'documenting' saidit intentionally violating the hosts terms of service, as well as being fine with illegal felonious death threats, would have to be in there. The site going offline within 12 hours could call the "random card payment denial" for the first time in 3 years into a bit of question, and could add a bit of controversy for interest.

I just alluded to 'the drama' when helping out that new guy, but it might be interesting to put as much of it as we can remember down before it all fades.

I read LOTR before that, in grade 7 or 8. Made notes in the margins and translated stuff and all that D&D stuff. Loved it but gave up in the Silmarillion. The movies had to do the best they could in a visual and editorially paced medium. THere were moments of poor CGI and so many more where they pulled magic out of their asses. IMO they pulled off the impossible and made one of the greatest series ever. Shame about the Hobbit.

Enza/NPC has been making historical notes and updates along the way in /s/WhiteOwlSocialClub.

Also, you could update the https://infogalactic.com/info/SaidIt article and/or document all that as you see fit. InfoGalactic has its pros and cons. Our Cassy project wiki will be available soon too - for projects of any kind, utilizing a wiki - not just encyclopedic stuff.

Yes, those were very weird times with a lot of coincidental shit happening simultaneously in an imperfect storm of sorts.

I'm not interested in rehashing that drama, but I hugely appreciate efforts to document history of SaidIt. I tried with the IG article and I tried to have M7 document more stuff be he wasn't interested in it. Some people don't appreciate historical events (like the birth of SaidIt), and sometimes folks like me are just digital hoarders. Regardless, I'm trying to move forward with solutions and things that I can apply my skills to. I've got maybe ~20 good years left. I'm about to go deep on a video for 9/11 so I will be quiet and busy until then and after aim to resume work on Cassy.

Thanks, that covers it well enough. Also reminds me how much of saidit slips by without me seeing it. Your weekly highlights idea is a good one.

My idea of the highlights would focus on truth-seeker news, though if that grew to be successful it might be fun/funny to have "local" SaidIt news about domestic drama, depending. It's good for history, but not so sure it's good for developing a community if there's too much negativity. It would have to be exceptionally balanced.
