Don't encourage animal abuse

Don't post anything endorsing or encouraging animal abuse.

Ok:

• Advising that dangerous dogs be put down is ok, so long as that euthanasia is humane.
• Advocating for people's right to defending their home and property from dangerous loose dogs.
• Finding some dark humor in a dog getting itself hurt.
• Acknowledging that an off leash dog is at risk for harm.
• Suggesting things to carry while on a walk to protect from loose dogs.

NOT ok:

• Suggesting a DIY solution when a dangerous dog isn't put down humanely
• Describing how you would defend your home and property from dangerous loose dogs graphically.
• Posting images of dogs that hurt themselves, or were hurt.

Be Civil

Consider Saidit's Pyramid of Debate when replying to something you don't agree with. Hostile posts and comments will be removed.

Use Archive Links When Linking a News Article

Post News Article links with Archive.is or Wayback. This helps our links maintain integrity if the news site changes the url or removes the article. This also helps with sites that have paywalls or blocks certain IP locations.

Use No Participation Links for Reddit Posts

Posting content from reddit isn't banned, but it must be done in a way that limits the potential for brigade accusations. To create a no participation link, replace the www in the url with np. Instead of the link starting with https://www.reddit.com, it should start with https://np.reddit.com.

Obscure Identifying Information on Screenshots

When posting something from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or other social medias-- except in the case of public figures-- identifying information should be obscured.

No Reposts

Check whether or not your content has been posted by someone else. If your post has a different angle on the same subject, or has more information, then it's fine.

No Validation Seeking

No posts about personal situations outside of the Weekly Vent Threads or the Peak Dog threads.

• If the person you're dating had a dog when you started dating them, and you knew you didn't like dogs, then that's your fault. Don't post about it here.
• If the person you're dating had a dog and you learned that you don't like dogs because of it, check out the Peak Dog Thread.
• If you're living with a dog for reasons outside your ability to control, check out the Weekly Vent Thread.

Didn't Ask, Don't Tell

Dog owners may participate on the sub, but mentioning the ownership of dogs is not allowed.

Statements no one needs to hear:

• "My dog doesn't do this"
• "I train my dog better"
• "As a dog owner, I"
• "I love dogs, but I hate this too"
• "I always keep my dogs on a leash"

"I don't hate dogs, but..." is also a useless statement that should be limited.

This isn't the proper place to talk about how great one animal is in comparison to dogs. All of them compare favorably.

Children Harmed / Killed	Children being hurt or killed by dogs.

GoFraudMe	Doggy donation madness, not limited to GoFundMe.
Humor	Jokes, memes, and satire.
Justice Served	Any situation where a dog owner is held responsible for their or their animal's actions.
Law and Order	New laws made to limit the effect of dogs on a community, banning dogs from spaces, or other dog related laws.
Meta	Any questions, suggestions, or observations of the subsaidit.
Pitbull Specific	Posts specific to pitbull aggression, pit apologia, or pit bans.
Promotion	Dogfree communities elsewhere. Youtube channels, social media, discords, or subreddits.
Quality of Life	Dogs causing noise issues, urine soaked streets, or any other antisocial behavior caused by dogs or dog owners.
Service Dogs and ESAs	Badly behaved services dogs and ESAs, whether they're "real" or not.
Shelter Shenanigans	Importing aggressive dogs across the country or internationally, lying about a shelter animal's breed to get around breed bans, adopting out dogs that have a history of aggression.
Validation Seeking	Dogs posted where they don't belong solely for the attention they get the poster, dogs featured on social media for no reason.
