The time I spend looking for and driving to an animal feed store just to buy an enormous bag of oats is going to cost me more than buying a little container of cat grass at the pet store.
And then what the hell am I going to do with all the leftover oats?

Buy wheat, and make wheatgrass juice for yourself. Assuming the cats would go for wheat sprouts as much as oat sprouts.

If you have a Tractor Supply Store they sell it. That place is awesome.
And then what the hell am I going to do with all the leftover oats
Keep growing grass. The stuff only lives for a couple weeks, my understanding because small planters can't handle the roots oat grass needs.
