Are you really against 'radicalization' or just the cause of this radical?

America is only a country because 'radicals' fought against British tyranny

You mean because middle class people didn't want to pay their taxes.

I would add my point wasn't really about about America. My point is that 'radicalization' is a means, and not an ends.

Most of the time when people criticize a means, they would support the same means for their own preferred ends. For example, the majority of the population condemns violence in protests, but the same majority will often condone violence in times of war, or dealing with criminals. So it really isn't the violence or 'radicalization' that is being objected to, it is the cause.

Or it's the situation and necessity.

Yeah I think thats fair.

I think the word 'radicalization' bothers me because it is often used to refer to people's ideology (wrongthink) or an entire class of action like violence. If it was always used in the way you are implying here I wouldn't be so sensitive about it.

Often it's being used badly today.

But when you go from tribalism to slurs and dehumanisation through to trying to kill someone that's pretty clear radicalisation.
