because we, and everything else, are carbon based life forms. if they can control carbon, they control life.

Well they usually say "carbon" as shorthand for "carbon dioxide". They're not trying to control all carbon lol. But still, it is concerning

sure, just the carbon participating in the carbon cycle. but all life depends on exactly that bit of carbon they are trying to control. as i understand it.
