It would be unconstitutional. It would never pass and if it did it would be overturned in court immediately. Congress just doesn't have the power under the constitution to dictate this to private institutions.

I thought it was Congress who had the power of the purse. The president can unilaterally do this? What institutions even rely on federal funds for their sports teams? Either way there are still private rec leagues everywhere that are free to make whatever crazy rules they want.

I am not in favor of men playing on women's teams btw. Very much against it, but it is not an issue that any president can just stop immediately or at all for that matter. I think the only way this problem is addressed is when actual women athletes start fighting for their rights or when women's sports is just completely ruined by all the men.
