Transgender-Identifying Activist Makes Homemade Bomb After Being Called 'Sir', Hints at Mass Murder | Women Are Human

Fucking great, a neighbour. Unhelpfully the Merseyside police are woke as so I doubt they'll do anything. Last year "Carol Lea" tried beating a woman in a KFC car park with a hammer. Nothing happened to him really either.

I'm aghast. Two months of identifying as trans is enough to get surgery?

In the UK it takes forever on the NHS waiting list

In fact that's what we count on in MH services. It's not gone unnoticed by some clinicians in the NHS... we hope we can do enough good work with people so they come to the realisation on their own what the issue is. This is the only situation I'm so thankful for the waiting list to otherwise give people a chance to think it through

As a social worker, this hits the nail on the head for me. Very attachment-y, not gender dysphoria. "Please notice me. Please approve of me. Please be nice to me."

I've been personally boycotting them for years because of shit like this - The Body Shop too. I am sure the bubble is going to pop for them eventually, they are horrific to their employees.

I'll never forget the first time I realised that men don't even see me as a human being with thoughts, feeling, emotions and a personal world of my own. Just a walking pair of tits.

I've thought about this a lot and I think a more apt comparison would be to the Cardassians at least as far as their judicial system goes. The ruling of every criminal trial is a guilty verdict with the purpose of the proceedings being not justice, but bringing the offender to recognise the power of the State. Dukat once told Sisko that Cardassians love watching justice triumph over "evil" when Miles was on trial on Cardassia. It seems like TRAs are keen to give more and more power to the State over private citizens to ensure their opinions and expressions of self are within their predetermined guidelines and punish those who don't. That's on top of the social costs of being "cancelled" for having the majority opinion.

Children's news website apologises to JK Rowling over trans tweet row
strawberryfields4evr 17 insightful - 1 fun17 insightful - 0 fun18 insightful - 1 fun 3 years ago

I find the willful misunderstanding of the fact that they made this apology because Rowling has a legitimate case for libel - NOT because she "can't take criticism" - absolutely maddening. There's a billion other places she could attempt to sue if it was about the criticism.

We've reached peak crazy.

1000% yes they are. It's horrific, dehumanising and cruel. But there's negative language across the board towards detransitioned people. I wish people wouldn't refer to them as mutilated.

Such ignorant people, if they knew their history they'd know that term has been around for ages. But it just shows off their narcissism - everything is about them and in reaction to them.

This (sadly) is one of the reasons I've considered removing myself from the organ donor list. I don't even know if putting in my will that my organs must go to a female XX person would hold up.

In light of the r/PCOS nonsense, is there an appetite for women's health subs here on SaidIt?

All important considerations - after I made this post, I had a bit of a browse on Facebook to see if there were any female-only PCOS groups. To my dismay, lots of them are for "ovary owners," "ovary havers" and the like. I just think it would be important to have a space - which at this point is TBD - to be able to talk about the symptoms and coping strategies that work. I do think a lot of the things spoken about in these spaces might get muddled up in radical feminist discourse - it's easy to tell someone to "rock the facial hair" when it's not you not getting jobs or dates or whatever because of it (a personal experience of mine, which is not representative of everyone of course). I wish I had website building skills, that would really come in handy!

Radical feminism is failing because it’s too racist
strawberryfields4evr 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun 3 years ago

Yeah, I deleted my account months ago because it felt like there was no way to contain ourselves in one space. And I kind of thought the spaces on Reddit would be a fallback... so much for that! Personally, I haven't seen it but I believe racism exists within the community. This has been a long-standing issue in gender critical spaces (my involvement only goes back to 2012 though so I can't speak to prior to this) because lots of people who are gender critical aren't radfem-aligned and even then... if anyone else remembers the white supremacist/Nazi person from Tumblr, can't think of the name, she decided she wasn't a radfem after all. I think it's important to keep our eyes peeled for it.

They've "won" the battle, but we'll win the war. The clock is ticking for them on how long people will put up with the gaslighting and self-censuring.

I actually really like the sound of that. There's plenty of space here to discuss sociological studies here but it would be great to have a place to discuss pure female medicine. I really like the Twitter accounts that keep track of studies that are "only in men" or "only in rats" - I wonder if that's another, separate idea too.

Spinster is based on open source code from Mastodon and is part of the Fediverse network. You can see posts from Gab which is a huge hub for white supremacists. If you stick to posts within Spinster, I haven't come across anything like this personally. It would be really helpful if you could identify posts and/or posters so we could get to the bottom of this.

I am so absolutely disgusted by all of this. We just need to encourage women away from that subreddit as much as possible. I would never recommend it, so we just need to build up supportive communities elsewhere. If we tell people to stay away I'm sure that would make them more curious of what's going on. A huge part of having PCOS for me is "feeling like a man" and feeling like a broken woman as a result of my disease. I will talk about my body parts as and when I want to.
