Venezuela's oil is some nasty dirty oil and requires a significant effort to process. We don't need it. The only reason the US would have for buying it is to replace the Russians.

That would actually be a smart tactic if the people controlling the US gave a shit about, well anything, really. The same guys control American and Russian Intelligence at the same time...
