It must be the vaccinated that are getting on these Boeing planes. I can't imagine anyone else being so stupid at this point.

EA is looking at putting in-game ads in AAA games — 'We'll be very thoughtful as we move into that,' says CEO

Ima laugh when they start "updating" peoples' previously purchased games, injecting them with ads and commercials. "This zombie encounter was brought to you in part by (insert fast food chain name here).

You know it's coming. And who could have possibly predicted that transitioning from a world where games were a purchased and owned product in the 1990s, like a microwave oven, to a world where everything and everyone wants you in an online, "sticky" relationship with them would turn out this way?

Microsoft's gaming layoffs violated promises it made in acquiring Activision, feds say

Yes and also I saw some pc gamers complain that even games for pcs are not as good as they could be because game companies purposely make them not as good so they can run on consoles and so that people will still buy consoles. So that's hurting the whole gaming community.

That's true. As long as we have moderately powerful PCs, there is 0 reason to buy a console today. It wasn't this way during the NES or SNES generations, because most PC games were a joke until id software really jump-started the PC game scene. And even late in the SNES generation, when the 486 and sound cards and CD-ROM were a force to be reckoned with as far as PC game capabilities go, a lot of well-regarded 2D games were only available on consoles.

Now a console is just an ultra-locked down PC with less features and flexibility/functionality, and most games are released on the PC anyway.

They might have also actually thought it was a good idea because they'd make games that would sell but have found didn't. I think the new Xbox and also PlayStations have been disappointing and haven't sold as much because they're not enough of an improvement over the old generation systems. I heard the Xbox series S especially sucks. Also the entire economy is bad and there's layoffs everywhere, not just at Microsoft.

You might say that the government got played. But nope, they knew this was gonna happen all along. The only reason Microsoft is buying all these game studios is to monopolize any and all of their popular video game franchises; they do not give a rat's ass about any actual developers.

There is so much redundancy in an aircraft and so many inspections from inside and outside the manufacturer/airline or transport company/facility/FAA. That said, from what I have seen first hand with some of the people who work on these larger aircraft, I try to not think of them when I fly. Also, I think that Boeing got really slack with these rules because they have gotten away with being less strict over time and nothing happening. SHTF and now there are consequences.

If Boeing does something good, they say Boeing did it. If they did something bad, it was the workers.

The real problem is the FAA. The FAA seems to not believe that there is such a thing as greed. It's like they never met a person. Every idiot I meet in real life cuts corners. Getting a bunch of people to build a plane to near perfection is a really bad idea. I would not let any human anymore into a factory producing anything in 2024. It just shows a lack of vision. If I were the FAA, I would mandate automation.

FAA: Boeing apparently didn't confirm bonding "where the wings join the fuselage."

I though this was a "the wings fall off" joke. But, no, that's the inspections that were inadequately controlled.

"The FAA has opened an investigation into Boeing after the company voluntarily informed us in April that it may not have completed required inspections to confirm adequate bonding and grounding where the wings join the fuselage on certain 787 Dreamliner airplanes," the FAA said in a statement provided to Ars today.

It's better to see the original article ZeroHedge links to, here: https://www.lemonde.fr/en/economy/article/2024/05/04/belgium-s-ports-drowning-under-glut-of-chinese-electric-cars-some-are-parked-here-for-a-year-sometimes-a-year-and-a-half_6670373_19.html

The cars will sell. The plan by Chinese EV companies is obviously - per the article - to flood the market with cheaper EV cars in an attempt to "capture a quarter of the European electric vehicle market." I think the main problem here is not EV cars, but the China state-sponsored attempts to gain market share in the West by severely undercutting the competition's prices, as they've done with $trillions in market share at Amazon, with the computer and phone markets, with G5 tech, with precious metals, etc. etc. This has ruined small businesses in the West. Boycott China products.
