I never tried this but the story makes sense. Microsoft actually developed something good so of course consumers rejected it. Modern scum hate everything that is good, even if developed by a name brand.
The implication for my FreedIt project is clear. FreedIt must default to a crappy UI that modern scum will like, and only be made good by changing options.
