paragraph 1
also noted that changes in the percentage of Americans seeking jobs “should help push up the unemployment rate.”
paragraph 2
“By the end of next year, we hope the ratio of job openings to unemployed is down to the more normal highs of the last business cycle.”

Oh, I see what you mean - it's on the bottom of the attached page 1.
"A modest further rise in the participation rate should help push up the unemployment rate, but we think most of the increase will come from weaker demand for workers. By the end of the next year, we hope the ratio of job openings to unemployed is down to the more normal highs of the last business cycle. Keep an eye on this metric and timely indicators of labor market balance like jobless claims and survey questions on the job market."

Wan't aware of that stat, but yes, I did also interpret them to mean they wanted to see more unemployed people per job opening
Meh. I want the labor market to loosen up. You can really tell low-level workers in the service industry don't really fear unemployment right now. That sounds good, but it allows them to do a shitty job. A balance must be struck.
Really stupid article and misleading paraphrasing. Every employer that has ever existed would very much prefer to not have to hire a low skill low effort idiot because that person was to only one who applied.

I hope lots of people close their accounts with that piece of shit company and open them at smaller regional banks or credit unions.
