I wonder if there is any familial relationship to Bernie Sanders, since they share a last name and have both done politics and were prominent people. Probably not, but it'd be funny if that was his uncle twice removed or something.

Piece of trivia: For half a year in Calgary in 1980 I went to Colonel Sanders elementary school, named after a different Canadian solder. It was still there last time I checked a few years ago when I told James Corbett about it (to no response) as he grew up in Calgary. We moved around a lot.

Another tasty piece: The Colonel didn't invent the secret recipe. He bought it from someone. As a kid we road tripped from Ontario to Florida for spring breaks a few times and passed through Kentucky and visited the original restaurant once.
